THE AUTHOR

Rose Sandy, the Story Behind Silver Gravity

Rose Sandy is a British publisher, author, entrepreneur and storytelling strategist. She is best known for combining a senior career in commercial publishing with writing international thrillers and building her own creative businesses. She previously held senior roles at HarperCollins UK, including Associate Publisher, and Publishing Director at HarperNonFiction, where she acquired and developed books by prominent authors including Sarina Wiegman, Myleene Klass, Peter Komolafe, Justin Welby, and Edwina Dunn. Rose also founded the HarperCollins Author and Design Academy, a training and mentoring programme created to open opportunities for writers and designers from underrepresented backgrounds. Today, she is the founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Silver Gravity Entertainment, an independent storytelling company dedicated to female-fronted fiction spanning international thrillers, romance, historical fiction, fantasy and speculative storytelling.

THE SILVER GRAVITY STORY

It Started With a Dare

It started in November 2010 with a London writer, an old desktop, and a nudge that sounded a lot like: Go write. Rose Sandy took the dare, wrote every day, and never stopped. Her debut, The Decrypter: Secret of the Lost Manuscript, climbed the Amazon charts, sequels followed, and Hollywood came knocking, optioning The Decrypter and proving there was always another door to storytelling. Rose then spent years at HarperCollins UK, publishing by day while keeping Silver Gravity alive by night, one book a year, a mix of international gems and bold commercial fiction. She helped launch an author academy with HarperCollins, championing new voices from pitch to print. A decade in, the letters from readers changed everything: a bedside table in a hospital; a love story that steadied someone through divorce; a thriller that made a commuter believe in courage. Rose wanted more. So in 2024, Silver Gravity stepped fully into the light: an independent press dedicated to female-fronted fiction, smart, heartfelt, and fiercely readable. We write, commission, and publish the stories you ask for, books that offer relief, escape, and a reminder of your own power.
