It started in November 2010 with a London writer, an old desktop, and a nudge that sounded a lot like: “Go write.”

Rose Sandy took the dare, wrote every day, and never stopped. Her debut, The Decrypter: Secret of the Lost Manuscript, climbed the Amazon charts, sequels followed, and Hollywood came knocking—optioning The Decrypter and proving there was always another door to storytelling.

Rose then spent years at HarperCollins UK, publishing by day while keeping Silver Gravity alive by night—one book a year, a mix of international gems and bold commercial fiction and non-fiction. She helped launch an author academy with HarperCollins, championing new voices from pitch to print.

A decade in, the letters from readers changed everything: a bedside table in a hospital; a love story that steadied someone through divorce; a thriller that made a commuter believe in courage. Rose wanted more—more writers, more women-centred stories that move mountains and mend hearts.

So in 2024, Silver Gravity stepped fully into the light: an independent press dedicated to female-fronted fiction—smart, heartfelt, and fiercely readable. We write, commission, and publish the stories you ask for, books that offer relief, escape, and a reminder of your own power.
