According to local lore, when the harbour froze solid in 1847, the townspeople celebrated with three nights of skating beneath the Northern Lights, and a mysterious figure in silver performed a dance that supposedly saved the town from a terrible fate. Now, Sophie's been hired to resurrect this lost tradition as a Winter Wonderland experience, complete with period costumes, authentic Victorian skating performances, and a climactic recreation of the legendary silver dancer's routine.

Jax Mitchell has been running Havenbrook Ice Rink for fifteen years, maintaining the aging facility with stubborn pride and treating every scuff on his ice like a personal insult. His family has owned the rink for generations, and he's heard every version of the Frozen Harbor tale—including the parts the tourism board prefers to forget. When Sophie arrives with her grand plans to transform his practical rink into a theatrical wonderland based on what he knows is mostly fiction, he's determined to protect both his ice and the truth.

Their first meeting ends with Sophie's historical research scattered across Jax's office and his blunt declaration that she's "romanticizing a tragedy." But with the entire town banking on the Winter Wonderland to revive tourism after a disastrous year, they're forced into an uneasy partnership. Sophie starts to see that Jax's resistance comes from respecting history, not rejecting progress. Jax realizes Sophie's determination to create magic isn't about false narratives—it's about giving people something to believe in.
